Mount Baker Theatre began its service as a theater in 1927, continuing today as a live performing arts venue, where enthralling events take place amongst the brightly decorated images and intricately carved ornamentation. More than 1,500 people can be seated in the main theater, used for touring group shows and performances by large regional companies, while the smaller Studio Theatre seats up to 200 patrons and is used for smaller, locally based performances. Set in the heart of the city, the theater is south of the Whatcom Museum of History and Art complex.
