A combination of architectural styles served as the basis of design for the Roeder Home, most noticeably the Stick Style and other Gothic-inspired forms. Built in 1903, the large home contains brightly colored painted murals and now serves as a community arts center, offering classes, art exhibitions and other local events. The home is set on the north end of the town, about a mile from the Whatcom Museum of History and Art complex.
